On the 16th of September, Boy.Brother.Friend took over the South London Gallery, contributing to their current exhibition ‘Lagos, Peckham, Repeat: Pilgrimage to the Lakes’, that explores themes of transnational exchange and a sense of place through the work of thirteen Nigerian and British-Nigerian artists. It was a day of joy and creation through the merging of art, fashion, music and food. In the midst of the chaos of London Fashion Week, BBF curated a moment of celebration and love. We were eased into the day with a breath-work practise led by Chloe Filani, followed by K Bailey’s readings and then a film screening by Jebi Labembika. We were then transported to Lagos in the heart of South, with Kenneth Ize’s debut London showing of his latest collection. The night ended with Tay Iwar serenading us with songs from his recent EP Summer Breeze, an apt way to close out the summer.
